The other day someone was asking me why inspite of living in US why we never proselytize Hinduism? Well, the answer is we, Hindus, believe in worshiping ours and respecting the rest. We believe that there is ample room for everybody in this world and all are different paths to the same Truth. This is the very ethos of all religions born in India, unlike those biblical religions which believe that their path alone is the right one. This biblical belief is the real bane of humanity. It will be the root cause of all social evils in future. So Indians, especially those who have become so vulnerable to these conversions or who are planning to convert, please know your Hinduism first. You wont look west again for peace and tranquility. When the whole world is looking towards Indian techniques like Yoga, Vipassana and TM for peace and happiness, it is foolish to look elsewhere.

""""proselytize/conversion is nothing but prostitting your self""""""""

Hinduism depends on its culture tradition truth, we dont need to use conversions. lots of west joining our stream. thats one greatness of our religion.
another greatnesss is we never use bad lang towoards other religions as they do.

    @9:50
Ur faith, ur life...no comments on it. I am not asking u to respect Hinduism, for ur religion tells u NOT to respect others. It prods u to be intolerant. That is ur gospel. That's ur creed. No one can help it. But atleast u should have the courage to make a meaningful argument. If you are not brave enough or at loss of words to dis-prove anything that is said above, then just keep ur trap shut. Why do u pass crass remarks with ur haphazard knowledge on Hinduism? Please know your History first. You will find that ur religion gave sainthood to murderes, rapists and ppl who died of Syphilis. I am sure you will learn a lot about the futility in what you believe and will be convinced to come back into the compassionate Hindu fold.

Hi all - Here are my points, please respond to them

    1. Is Krishna not a womanizer ?
    2. Is Rama not a psycho ? - doubting his wife chastity? Asking her to undergo so called purity test ?
    3. Is Draupadi a moral person ? Does sleeping with brothers amount to practicing incest and adultery ?

Everyone stop praising them and try to answer above questions to the best of your knowledge (which I doubt it )

    Anonymous said...

    Rama - psycho
    Draupadi - practises adultery
    Krishna - womanizer

This is the state of hindu gods-

So stop worrying about particular god, think about the philisophy

    To the above asshole:

Krsna is actually the Holy Father. Virgin Mary was a Gopika in her past birth and yearned for Krsna's company. The Lord promised to bless her in her next life when she will be born as a Jew. Accordingly, He graced her with His mere glimpse and impregnated the virgin resulting in the birth of Jesus Christ. This is the secret behind the story of Immaculate Conception in Bible. That should teach you a lesson:).
Now coming to the philosophy part of your statement, Christ actually spent his youth in India (to be precise Laddak) and studied the ancient Vedic wisdom, Buddhism, Jainism and other Indian schools of Philosophy. Actually there is an interesting anecdote behind this. Krsna (the actual Holy Father of your son of god) appears to Christ in a vision and tells him to pay a visit to Himalayas to learn yoga and other ancient Indian scriptures before he can proclaim his theology on the romans and arabs in middle east. Accordingly, Christ visited India and learnt Vedic Hinduism, Buddhism and other Indian religions. Hence, even if you think in terms of philosophy the Indian Philosophy happens to be the mother and grand mother of Christian Theology.

@1:31...u know wht...u r right..my apologies for losing temper up there..but i have been seeing these aggressive proselytizing tactics oflate a lot and gone overboard in my comments above...i am not happy with them either...self-restraint is what any religion tells. Honestly, this is a forum on The Gita. Why should anybody come here and pass crass comments? Intellectual discussions are most welcome...but outright vulgarity only breeds contempt for others.. My apologies for what i said up there...i dont care wht tht fool says anymore.
Btw, nobody knows if God exists...but wars are waged over traditions and what we believe in...none of them cared if God exists...u believe in a religion/tradition because generations of ur family are rooted in its ethos..hence u respect it..but when some fool says something wrong against it...he should be stopped (period).
