I work with elderly people and she is my role model to work in this field. No one like to touch poor needy and ppl suffering with many diseases. Can't you just get past "Matam" for a minute and think of what she did with her life. She sacrificed her life for the sake of other people when nobody came forward. To me and to many people in this world she is "Amma". She is a God given gift.

Baba Amte, Pandu Ranga Shastri Athavale (Swadyaya) and many others did similar service without asking them to convert. They did not convert nor preach Hinduism among non-hindus whom they were nursing. 3. May be you think twice to nurse ur own mother, but what do you know about me to doubt that i wouldn't :). 4. I am not sure what Mahatma Gandhi meant, but please realize that choice of religion is no longer a personal one.
