Hero is someone who reflects good. Villian is one who reflects bad. Hence, hero is shown as someone attractive in looks so people will like good and try to implement it. Villian is shown without makeup and ugly as people are supposed to hate bad and stay away from it. This does not mean a normal looking guy without makeup, white skin, height, physique and a grand father in the movie industry should not be a hero.
