black box testing is done as part of quality assurance phase in software development life cycle. It can be broadly classified into two types - automated and manual. Learn tools like QTP, QC and Loadrunner to know automated testing. Manual testing differs by environment and platform. There is no clear cut discipline for it. Hope this helps.
