excellent movie. it does not have 100 group dancers with very white skin dancing in a foreign location with hero and heroine or ~100 crore budget with sumos and people flying into air or any exposing and bhoothu dialogues by heroine. still the movie made me glued to the seat completely throughout. excellent screenplay, music, acting and direction. grt. admin, thanks for posting old movies like these.
i agree with 1:47pm. also this movie did not get released in 10000 theaters like new movies where heroes are competing to have max number of theaters. fools. as if it is a record ???
@2.51 we will talk about our current movies only because the movies in future will be more crappier. we don't like 99% of movies made now. these kind of movies like jakkanna were even acclaimed in the times they were made as well as now and will be praised in future. so what you said is true but partially.
Woh! B.Saroja Devi is so beautiful as was Madhubala in Hindi movies.

@1:47 and @5:00 PM. sign of the times. No there were n't such many theaters in those day, and no there was no such budget to shoot in foreign.
after 30 + years, we will be talking about our current movies the same as we talk about jakkanna.
