I think he is a very powerful actor. Rao Gopal Rao was so outstanding that Satyanarayana couldn't top him as top villian. Instead he is so versatile that he fits in villanous roles, fatherly roles, grandfather roles, comedic roles..... just an amazing actor.
Also he can display his acting skills without having to appease a lot of fans that need nothing but a big name these days.
Satya narayana was a super fit in every role that he's done but didn't get that recognition for he's media shy and does his work calmly without much show.
Fortunately, Tollywood has a very good crop of villains/character artists like SVR,Rajanala.Gummadi, Nagabhushanam,Rao Gopala rao,Satyanarayana.Kota, Mohan Babu, ,Prakash raj,Srihari etc., but now we seem to depend on imports who can't speak telugu but can only show their six pack body...
Maybe audience like those physique & fair skin with dubbed voice??
