If a foreigner comes to India and starts drinking on street, he will be soon pushed into the bokka...why? Because its illegal in India. So, ekkadi laws akkada untai..Euros aasha to velli, akkada socialise kaakunda flat lone undi, Indians to ne raasukuntu poosukuntu tirigi, manamedo mahaa great manushulamantu paata chintakai paddhati lo children ni treat cheste bokka lo toyyaka inkem chestaaru?

This is the problem of lack of integration of Indian people abroad. They live in their tiny communities and do not much socialise with people of that country. So its natural that they do not understand the laws properly.

@1:53 very well said. We are overseas and I see so many indians under the name of 'respect for culture' follow the hypocratic superstitious lifes with no intentions of change. I met some parents who dont believe that there is concept like 'Parenting'. They think parents are bosses.

i cant say much about this parents - but some link is missing - how children reached India - The child is having ADHP - are parents giving appropriate treatment to the child etc., But it is also not appropriate to seperate parents from children.

Well after being in Eurpe for close to 8 years, I can vouch for the fact that Norwegia laws on parenting are quite stupid.

The reason why these countries are so prosperous is that they follow the rule to word, which is precisely the reason why their family lives are so hollow.

Western Europe is very prosperous and secure financially, but people lead sorrow stricken miserable lonely lives.

As to Indians not integrating into their societies, if integrating into their societies means late night parties, alcohol and sleeping around, then its def not worth it. We contribute more to their country via working in industry, research or teaching than most Europeans do.

Moreover we are law abiding, well mannered people.

I don't think just because of disciplining children they put him in Jail, these parents are not telling the Truth, may be he has beaten hardly or something nonsense he might have did to the child, OR he might have try to implement untouchability there in Norway, he might have told to child not to sit besides Black people (veedu edhoo maha thelaga andham vunatlu)in the school, so they are giving severe punishment. See for simple disciplining the punishment will be one week jail and ask him to attend some parenting courses which cost him $1000s that itself is a big punishment for a stinky Indian. But putting him in this days in Jail, I think he did something bigger. May be he tried to download their software and try to sell to the same people just like Indian mentality to become millionaire in over night.

if you are in Norway follow that rules otherwise go to India serve the country. Dont say India is great when you are in foreign. people come abroad for money and they just dont like to go back because of corruption etc.,and they stick to old system which is not present in these countries.

those who talked about indian culture as waster or no mean…. whatever like 12:22 and 1:52 waste fellows!!
try to understand what i said, these people will be back of laws but not back of brought up of children. these children in 6 th and 7th grades itself start sex. but in india it much better, still values are alive. ( i am not saying in india all are good) they don't talk these kind of stupid sex matters infront of adults and atleast they wait until 20 or 25.
over all india is good for values. here or countries like narway give lot of freedom to kids and spoil them.

if parent do not beat or talk anger in certain times, children will spoil. (not generalizing, but according to the situations)

It is really disheartening. It is not the first time. Parents from India have been facing similar issues in
U S,Canada & many European countries. As a teacher in Canada I am aware, the issue is something weird in India, but serious by the laws of these countries. However in Canada teachers appraise the parents about school system.I am not aware of the intricacies of Norwegian school system.
Let us hope that the school authorities understand the parents anguish and take appropriate decision.

Akkadi society tindi tintuu mana paata chintakaya parenting ey follow autaam ante etla?

People, esp parents should prepare enough before going elsewhere and living. Not just learning to convert euros into rupees.

which country is great, that is irrelevant . every country has its own laws and guidelines to implement. we all have to understand what is the truth behind this case. if you living in Europe one has to understand beating children is a crime. i think in this case Norway police got evidence to argue parents should be jailed for one year. one year jail sentence is a serious offence. so we all have to think carefully before any our own conclusions

I think the TV9 is just showing videos from the family's perspective.
TV9 doesn't have journalists in USA forget Norway..
we are just being presented a oneside story.

These countries give lot much importance to the human values. If they didn't done nothing they should have not gone too far but the way they getting sentence we can think that they have done big offence which is lied within the parents and norway judiciary, tv9 doesn't have any stories.

As someone above said, every country have their own laws and freedom, and their own problems too. Both western and indian countries have inherited cultural values. people say Indians are best in culture, but then people are dying on roads. Westerners got the money, the facilities and the freedom, but they often can't control their minds, thus resulting in binge drinking and all nasty stuff. As for me, drinking alcohol is not bad, drinking too much of it and loosing control is the worst thing.

Nothing to speakmuch in this case indian government gone stepback means everybody need to understand these parents are abusing the kids but the eldest one is autistic need to understand

I checked the Norwegian media web sources on this news: no talk. If there was really an injustice those people speak you see.
Manolle baaga kotti untaaru, punishments icchi untaaru, bedirinchi untaaru...

Children are also individuals, and every individual has a right to free and decent life without abuse, if that right is take by any other individual, even parents, it is against judicial law and is against human values.

Children are not parents' properties, and they are not slaves.

TV9 is presenting one side news..
see Hindu article
http://www.thehindu.com/news/international/child-abuse-case-norway-court-to-sentence-indian-couple-tomorrow/article4160648.ece

pilala cheti meedha vathalu unnayi anta.
and he complained to his teachers a couple of times.

vere countries ni just like that scold cheyodhu.
human values are same across the world.

I think something is missing in this story. They are hiding some truths. To come to an opinion it is better to know truths. It is also better to reveal truth to get proper help for he couple.

TV9 has to be very unbiased to comment on this. I can not support everything that some European or western countries do. but at the same time I do not support Indian values and culture.
There might be facts hidden here, like they are saying repeated mistreatment.
I am a mom and can never ill treat my children and can never let my husband ill treat them too. If the school grew suspicious of all this did they take photographs of the kid with bruises and was he sent for the medical exam at the first occurrence of such things.
why did the school allow for such repeated incidents.
That said I do not think a School will this such a thing with the parents of one student.
But jailing them for that long might not be the right thing to do, kids need parents and should not be separated from them. may be the govt there should consider jailing each one of them at different times, so that at least one parent will be available for kids.
TV9 should get complete facts and stop repeating itself over and over again in each session. I see that they the same thing over and over again just to kill time. It is one of the worst news channels doing reporting with no responsibility.

ppl please read NDTV article about this, apart from the parents scolding its also said that the child had a hyper-disorder and the Norwegian govt was not going to provide any assistance to help the parents as they were not citizens and at the same time the child has burn marks on his body, so consider the whole scenario. In countries like US u can scold but not threaten and the teachers at school or neghbors get any info from the child they escalate it...so parenting outside India(cos nobody cares how u reprimand ur child in India) is tough but u have to follow the law of the land, ignorance is not an exception......

Whatever Norway did id correct, Indian law and culture is worst, somebody saying Indians don't have sex at younger age that's why India is great, you Indians are Hippocrates, you have sex in between four walls and Indians rape women left and right from 3yrs old child to 80yr old women, so is much worst place to live for women or children, look at your child labor in India. So Norway is right. You Indians degrading human beings and keep on increasing the population by having sex in between four walls and bringing down the values of human being in the World.
