somehow national media seems to be glamorizing this convicted person. Does that mean bollywood's so-called media created image of people is more important to uphold than that which is true and upheld by court of law?
Always we cry that law is not implemented correctly now the time has come for Indian law should prove that in court of law everybody is equal. These people licking Dawood A.s H..e who is most wanted for India, so he not an exception. I don't why there should be a debate and why this Bollywood stars and politician should interfere into justice system.
Ide oka common man ki jarigithe eppugu jail lo esesi undevollu. Just because he's a movie star and has massive support of bolly industry, the justice system shouldn't pardon him. Even if he is repenting now, chesina tappuki siksha idi ante, adi evarikaina, enni years tarvata aina same undali. If a murdered repents his crime, does that mean he can be set free? So even in this law there should be unbiased judgment.
Family ni protect cheyyadaaniki illegal weapons, andulo Ak56, enduku? Bombay riots lo ey okka bollywood family ki emi kaaledu...those who were killed and tortured were poor people. Now, if they have even a proper knife, they are put under some case or the other!
Truth is: media licks Bollywood's dirty nails and whatever they do, they'r portrayed as innocents. Why? because all news houses earn their money by promoting films, actors, and porn stars.
of course he will cry in front of the media..he is an actor!
Nobody is questioning why the media is showing him with such sympathy! Websites like NDTV are removing comments which ask them the same question!
This is another kind of banana republic where real public opinion counts less than shit and media journos (with their own agenda) try to create an oligarchy of sorts to satisfy their masters.
There is nothing wrong with feeling sad for a man who (if genuinely) regrets having done something wrong. We too make mistakes, especially when young, stupid, and fall into bad company. Some of them are cause irreparable damage to ourselves and others. Yes, he is a celebrity and that is why he is getting attention, but I admire the man for his integrity in not contesting the court's ruling.
That said, calling this a national tragedy is very irresponsible of the media. That media which should ideally be unbiased, is shamelessly supporting this man, who, like any other person in his place, is punishable by law. Regardless of whether Sanjay Dutt regrets his past, the justice system has finally caught up with him and he goes to jail.
It is NOT an emotional day for the nation. Delhi gang rape was an emotional day for the nation. THIS, is NOT. Indian media needs stop this emotional manipulation. The public deserves better.
I am glad to see so many wonderful remarks. This gives me hope. No matter what the reason behind his actions, he assisted the mafia who took other people's lives. He is talking about freedom but what about the freedom to live.
Anyway, he is just paying for his own actions and this shows us that no matter who you are, the law will catch up to you.
BTW, he was caught red-handed, and thats why they were able to at least prove it, even after this much delay. He played a part in causing deaths and injuries to people and their families. I don't think 5 years is even justifiable for the families. He should cry about the victims and tell others to think before doing such things. Not cry like a baby becoz he cannot sleep in his five star mansion. Please.

Supreme court decisions are final. Only you can ask president for pardon that's granted in rarest of rare cases.

This is what happens when the justice is delayed, suspects will get sympathy and victims will never get complete justice.
